BETTER BEGINNINGS: HOW TO CAPTURE YOUR AUDIENCE IN 30 SECONDS
WITH CARMEN TARAN

Images excite the senses and engage the mind.  I want to learn how to find, choose and use imagery to stimulate the imagination in my nursing students and the groups I speak to on social justice topics.  For this reason, I was elated to find this short presentation entitled, “Better Beginnings”.   I FOUND IT READING LisaMLane’s blog.  If you’re new to blogging or e-newletters, you may find this helpful as well.

The photo was taken by the author of this blog in Kiungani, Kenya in Nov. 2009.  People power and no machines of any kind built this home for 25 former street kids.  (Construction was completed late in 2010.)  My husband and I were honored to be present for the laying of the foundation,  a physical and symbolic act which has changed the trajectory of our lives.
